2024 Testing Results

This corn hybrid evaluation for silage production is a producer driven collaboration between the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania (PDMP) and Penn State. The objective of the program is to evaluate corn hybrids to provide unbiased information to producers and the seed industry on yield performance and forage quality of corn hybrids for silage production in Pennsylvania. Test plot locations are chosen within Pennsylvania's four growing zones, which are short, mid, and late. Maturities across these zones range from 86 to 118 days relative maturity.  Plots in eight sites throughout the state were harvested for testing this year.  For convenience, results are accessible below in both Excel spreadsheet and PDF formats. This report summarizes the 2024 results.
