Dina Zug and husband Art purchased Zugstead Farm from Dina’s parents in 1979 and have been growing it, and the next generations there in Juniata County ever since. Today, Zugstead Farm’s management team includes their sons Joe and Dan and they are dairying with 800 dairy cows and 600 heifers and about 950 acres in corn, alfalfa, and grass. With the next generation fully engaged in the operation, Dina continues to tend the calves from birth to 4 months and, in her role of Company Secretary, handles the daily accounting, payroll and other business office requirements for Zugstead Farm.
Dina plays an active leadership role in the State Grange and serves as Treasurer of the American Dairy Association Northeast, is Leader of the Central Juniata 4 H Livestock Club, Council Member of the Juniata Mifflin Cooperative Extension and on the Juniata Co Dairy Promotion Committee. She also chaired a of the PA Dairy Future Commission, on which she helped craft the many recommendations for the industry that PDMP has incorporated into its advocacy agenda.
